FAQs

What is this? How does it work?

After you have registered and you login, go to the puzzles option and your first puzzle will be waiting. When you solve that puzzle you will get the next location for the next set of puzzles and 1 or more new puzzles will open up for you. This will continue until you finish. Yay!

How much does it cost?

The cost is $30.00+tax to register your team.

Is it a race? What is the goal here?

It is NOT a race. The goal is to spend some time in enjoyable outdoor locations in the Twin Cities while solving some puzzles and following a silly story along the way. It takes quite a while to complete, and teams are encouraged to go at their own pace and take breaks along the way. It does not need to be completed in a single day!

So how long will it take?

A Spoonful of Puzzles is roughly a 3-4 hour experience, and we recommend it as a great puzzling experience for families and groups with kids! The Lost Treasure of Pig's Eye is a more lengthy challenge, even for experienced puzzlers, and it will take 6-8 hours for most groups. Please note: If you want to experience both adventures, Please use a different username and team name for each adventure.

Do I need a car?

You will need some form of transportation as these puzzles are scattered around the twin cities. A car, bike or bus should suffice.

What else do I need?

You will need smartphones (ideally fully charged), to input puzzle answers and unlock more puzzles as you go. You will also want to bring paper/notepads and writing utensils. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather, as the hunt takes place entirely outside. Wear sunscreen and bring a mask, just in case!

How many puzzles will there be?

There will be 10-18 puzzles, though some will be much longer than others.

How many people can be on our team?

The ideal group size is 4-6. Please remember the social distancing constraints and enjoy with family members and roommates

I’m stuck on a puzzle. What should I do?

Each puzzle has several hints available - you can click on them one at a time to get more and more information that will halp you solve the puzzle! The last hint listed on each puzzle will tell you the solution.

Who’s running this hunt?

We’re Trapped Puzzle Rooms. We create puzzle rooms in the Twin Cities and thought it would be fun to create an outdoor adventure in this time of lovely summer weather and social distancing.
